Prunes Approved
Although it brings us way over budget, at last night's meeting the Board approved two additional days of pruning for the Rear and Front landscaping. The total cost is $2544. HPO will pay $1689; FOG has generously donated $855 towards this needed work. This is the kind of landscape maintenance that is very expensive and isn't always obvious, suchas adding pretty plants and shrubs.
Cherry blossoms coming soon!
FOG Meeting #1
A very productive first meeting. The contracts approved by the Board of Directors for Gardening, Lawn Care, and Arborist Services for 2006 were reviewed. The following issues were discussed: the railroad ties edging the front walk; planters to deter cars trying to drive up the front walk; artificial plants for the Front Lobby niches; live plants for the Spring Holidays; creating compost cages in the unused Playground area; tree pruning by the Arborist; fund raising for the garden and the Garden Party; requesting the talents of resident musicians for the party; Plot Plan of the Rear Garden to be used to assign gardening tasks to the volunteers, etc. Sunday, June 11th was selected for the Garden Party. Three new residents joined us at this first meeting. If you get a chance to walk around the grounds, you'll notice the daffodils and other Spring bulbs have pushed their way up. Although you wouldn't know it from the cold temperatures lately, Spring has arrived!
